In this project, we were tasked to create a piece of furniture with a constraint of using only 2 pieces of plywood. The main objective is to develop a piece of work
(or a programme) which has a distinct identity and a strong sensibility while being appropriate for the defined context.
notch is a modular bench system defined by their colourful curved notches. Through versatile configurations, notch forms geometric islands that invite momentary rest, lounging, and collaboration in spaces.
With the flexibility of its rounded oblong shape, each bench can be intuitively connected at their curves to compose a variety of playful shapes. notch’s continuous form encourages users to sit at any part of its silhouette. Its expansive form creates a space ideal for social gathering and personal rest.
